# Sale Discount Calculator Example

Work out a discounted shopping total in Calcul.io by applying a percentage discount to one item, multiplying by quantity, and checking the final price.

## Sale discount

Apply a percentage discount once, then multiply the reduced price by the number of items. The sample uses a $80 item with a 25% discount.

originalPrice = 80$
discount = 25%
salePrice = originalPrice * (1 - discount)
quantity = 3
orderTotal = salePrice * quantity
```

## How it works

1. Change `originalPrice` and `discount` to match the offer.
2. Set `quantity` to the number of items in the basket.
3. Use `orderTotal` as the discounted subtotal before shipping or tax.

Keep taxes and delivery as separate named lines when you need the full checkout total.
