Planck mass

Planck mass in natural-unit physics

planckMass is the mass scale formed from the reduced Planck constant, speed of light, and gravitational constant. Although tiny by everyday standards, it is enormous compared with particle masses.

Why it matters

Planck mass sets a characteristic scale in quantum-gravity discussions. It is related to planckLength and planckTime, which complete the natural scale family.

Caveats

It is not the mass of a known particle. Be careful whether a formula uses mass or energy; convert through speedOfLight and use pow for the squared c factor.
