gravitationConstant

Newtonian constant of gravitation

Try it yourself:

Gravitational Constant

gravitationConstant is Newton’s G, the proportionality constant in universal gravitation. It relates two masses and their separation to gravitational force.

Universal gravitation

Use G in F = Gm₁m₂/r² with SI masses and metres. Do not confuse it with gravity, the local acceleration near Earth’s surface. For orbital energy, combine it with speedOfLight only in the correct relativistic context.
