## Boltzmann Constant

**boltzmann** converts temperature into energy per particle. Its SI unit is joules per kelvin and it underlies thermal distributions and entropy.

## Temperature is absolute

Use it with [gasConstant](https://calcul.io/constants/gasConstant/index.md) and [avogadro](https://calcul.io/constants/avogadro/index.md). Thermodynamic formulas normally require kelvin, not Celsius; convert temperatures before applying exponential factors.
